Ti stem creek

Hello, im having a problem with a ti stem creek. I've lubed the bar, stem threads, stem bolts. I get the creek on the hoods or in the lower flats when climbing. would the star piece in the steerer tube cause this? any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Is it a threadless set up?

What type of bar are you using?

it's a threadless set up. im using a deda 215 alum bar/titec stem/f1 fork

Try taking the handlebar out of the stem and look for evidence of galling. It will be a shiny area where a very small amount of rubbing it taking place.
