I have a eight year old 53-42 campy crank on my Colorado II and I want to replace my small crank with smothing smaller - I am old and getting weak. Can I do this simply without screwing up everything else? Where might I find just a small crank?

Do you mean you want to replace the small chainring? That you can do easily, all you need is a 135 BCD chainring with the number of teeth you want. One caveat though, at eight years old you may want to replace both rings to insure no hang ups when shifting, new chainring bolts woud be a good idea too. Don't forget that if your crank is a Record model, you will need to get a Record large ring, that hidden bolt.
