I've posted about my bottom bracket frustrations with my gazelle cabby in the past (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=279568).

This week, I came across another serious flaw.

During normal use, a cabby looks something like this:

See that flap towards the top of the bucket? There's a zipper under there. It's the only thing holding the side wall up. Some would assume that it could be easily unzipped to allow further carrying capability, such as:

However!

It turns out that this side wall is also the only thing holding up the bottom of the bucket. So the bottom falls down. Which is bad on its own, but being a bakfiets that interferes with the steering.

It's also unclear how this impacts the carrying capacity. I would have expected something a little firmer holding the bottom than just the canvas. It's held up fine for me, but seems like an eventual point of failure.

It's not clear why this has a zipper at all. Replaceability? Cleaning? The zipper seems like adding a major (plastic) point of failure. It's certainly not easy to rezip after undoing. It takes a good bit of finagling, with high risk of snapping.
