"...when Tyler Hamilton crashed hard on a left hand bend on the descent of the Col de la Morte after 90km, it threw a monkey wrench in the Swiss team's plans. After the stage, Hamilton described his crash saying, "I had a lot of speed in the corners trying to pass a guys; I kinda did a Beloki."
Tyler Hamilton (Phonak)...With torn side panel on his shorts, plenty of road rash and blood caked on the inside of his left forearm from his scraped left elbow." http://www.cyclingnews.com/road/2004/jun04/dauphinelibere04/?id=results/stage6

when the pressure's on, he crashes. and he doesn't recover like a lance armstrong to win the tour de france. argh annoying tyler... i don't wish bad on anyone but he should really learn how to work a bike, not just crank his legs.

I bet if Tyler used a pair of training wheels that he would win the Tour. He just can't seem to stay upright.

Most ex-downhill skiers turned racers are good descenders and bike handlers. Tyler either must be asleep on his bike (like him drifting to the back and getting dropped on the stage he ended up winning in the TDF last year), or he must have a serious case of a subconscious fear of success that sabotages his great form and ability.
