Need a front cable hanger

For a new project. 1” threaded steerer.

I’ve got Paul Neo retro brakes but need a cable hanger. Stem/steerer mount, not fork mount.

I already have a cheap Suntour stamped hanger. Looking for something a bit beefier and more of a drop.

I saw Rene Herse makes some but currently out of stock. And Paul funky monkey (and other clamp-on’s) is ugly.

Any others I should consider?

I just ordered one of these fairweather nitto cable hangers. I was looking for a slim profile 1 1/8", and saw these recently.

They also make a 1" version that clamps to the quill of a threaded stem.

You can also opt for a stem with a built in cable stop. Some solutions are more elegant than others.

Thanks all! The ones suggested just don’t it for me, aesthetically. I’m a snob, I guess. Rene Herse looks great, so I may just wait for them to get back in stock.

Drilling a stem….I’m not that skilled, otherwise, I’d seriously consider it!

You can get one of these from Alex Singer, but it comes with a bike. Seriously, the fact that they go to the trouble of making them is a pretty good indication that the market is thin on stiff and reasonably light cable hangers.

I'm partial to eliminating the upper hanger in favor of a Suntour Power Hanger.

That Singer looks pretty nice.

My stem is fairly slammed so no room for a clamp on.

I also will add a front rack, so crown mount is not an option either (plus, they look ugly).

Another option is, RH makes stems with integrated cable hanger/stopper. Looks nice but don’t want to spend $260+ for a stem either.

It's a mountain bike stem, so 25.4mm bar. There's a number of them on ebay.
