In particular, the top 2 road frames...

I know, Swiss company, but is the actual carbon manufacturing done in Tawain?

As always, thank you all in advance,

Steve

This doesn't really answer your question, but the SLT01 is a fairly badass frame. I am not an entirely wimpy dude (over 6 feet, over 190 lbs, mostly fit) and it strikes me as a crazy-stiff platform. Just my experience, though.

My 2005 Team Machine was made in Taiwan and I doubt they have since moved production to Switzerland. I would say the high end ones are still made in Taiwan or possibly in an Easton-related/owned facility in Taiwan. I have heard that the Swiss folks at BMC keep a close eye on production. Try sending an email to Brendan Quirk, as he's probably been to the factory as I think he's the largest BMC dealer in the U.S.

I can only speak for the Team Machine (as opposed to the Pro Machine), but it's a great bike and has a unique feel to it.

The 2006 I owned came in a box marked made in Taiwan.....

I've little of substance to add, but I know several people with these frames who all love 'em.
I think they look really slick, and the fit and finish, at least on the top end, is very good.

Now who can tell me what BMC stands for? You'll laugh once you hear it!

Got to give them credit for being simple and direct. No embellishment here!

(I would kill for a SLC01)

Snipped from their website:

Where are the BMC bikes manufactured?

The prototypes of all BMC bikes are developed, produced and assembled in Switzerland. BMC is one of the few Swiss bicycle manufacturers with its own manufacturing facility on site. Some of the frames come from Taiwan and Poland. The Time Machine TT01 is manufactured completely in Switzerland.

"Some of the frames come from Taiwan and Poland" I wonder which ones???

Thanks for all the great info!

I don't know where they come from, but ask someone in shipping/receiving at QBP how many have gotten sent back for QC issues. The customer service people might not say, but you can trust the guys in the warehouse.

The Pro Machine is made at Eastons facility in China. The other models are made in Tawian. That is straight from BMC reps at QBP.
