I am planning on building up a bike for a 3 or 4 month tour in Europe using 650b wheels. Does anyone have any recommendations for 650b wheels and tires. I will be carrying a moderate load (mostly hotels, but camping when necessary) on mostly paved roads with some easy off road stuff and want a very durable, but comfortable wheelset. The bike is a steel Kogswell PR, if that makes any difference. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Velocity Synergy rim with Panaracer Col de la Vie tires should work great...

Peter White made my 650B wheels with that rim, and they are still perfect after close to 10k miles on rough New England roads (and some things that aren't really roads!).

got a pair for my gfriend's bike. they were straight and fine, but not sure about their load carrying abilities. comfort should come from those fat tires and not to worry about it coming from the build of the wheels.

panaracers seem like a good all around tire.

+1 what Dave wrote.

Another source for wheels is Trinity Bicycles (http://www.trinitybicycles.com/650b.php), also a Kogswell dealer.
