An HSG iT Wins the U.S. “Hell of the North.” On April 14th at Battenkill Roubaix, Eric Pearce from the Bethel Cycle team rode away on his Serotta HSG iT from a star studded Master 40+ field that included some of the best USCF racers in the region and the nation. Eric attacked a strong group 15 miles from the finish and drove his HSG on for the last 25K for the solo win. Bethel Cycle's Joe Regan joined Eric on the podium with an excellent third.
“My new HSG iT was a really great bike for the race,” says Eric. “It’s incredibly light and stiff and transferred power on the climbs like a dream. But it still had a comfortable ride, even over the dirt roads of Battenkill. The HSG delivered even beyond my expectations.”
The 55-mile race, featuring nearly 14 miles of rolling dirt roads with steep climbs, is called Battinkill Roubaix and nicknamed "Hell of the North" after the Spring Classic race Paris Roubaix held on the same weekend. This year over a thousand racers braved a week of snow and torrential rains in Upstate New York to take on the tough roads.
