I've been well served by Specialized, and I have the one with the altimeter (I"m at work, can't remember the model offhand). I have two wireless setups and swap the computer back and forth on my road bikes. Works well and the altitude gained function is a lot of fun.

Cateye Mity. Simple, reliable, and cheap.

+1 on the Cateye Mity, if you want something simple. I use the Cateye Astrale because I like to have cadence, too.

I would also recommend the new Cateye Strada. Small, simple, and comes in either black or white

Check out the Mavic ".9" computer, you can get 'em on Eboy for 10 bucks, I have several and really like them. Actually I like them BETTER than the Mavic Wintech which is on my Ottrott.

Hmm.

I've got a Cateye CD300DW wireless on my Seven for wireless cadence. It works fine, although it burns through batteries pretty quickly, and has (what appears to be) dozens of features I've got no interest in whatsoever. And it's five times more expensive than the Mity!

The Strada looks great - Even smaller than the Mity, with the same functions. And white is a very attractive option for my next bike - Goes with the white bartape. And white saddle. And (mostly) white frame...

So far ... No problems with my Cateye Enduro 8 ..

It takes a while to set up. Instructions are less then perfect.
But I would purchase another.
