Just looking for a fun bike to ride mellow trails with my wife, fireroads, some pavement/rail trail. Rigid Highball/Chisel would be cool, but open to fatter tire gravel/cx bikes. Flat bar preferred. 54-56 / Large MTB. <$2k. Anyone holding?

I have one of these as my commuter / beater / get around town, and I can't recommend it enough. Good, diverse geometry, supple ride, all the mounts, not too heavy (roughly 3 kg for frameset) and decent looks. For clyde's asking price you should be well below your budget once getting all the parts.
