To start off, I have seen and rode some very nice frames in all different materials. I saw my new Sachs track bike today and there is not a better, sexier looking machine than that track bike. I will post pictures but man the tubes, the Jb paint job and the overall track build is just well ATMO needs a drug test! I don't think he's human. If he really is human, then he on performance enhancing drugs that we haven't seen.

Thanks ATMO

PS I'm not sure Ashton at Sundance is going to give me the bike. He's a track dude and man I'm worried.

the more i read about the way mr sachs sets up bikes, the more similarities to my personal preferences on geometry i see( within the context of fitting the rider not making a custom bike)....

Jack,
I had your bike in my studio a while back and I can testify that it's one bad mofo. The man definately knows how to get it done.
I was lucky enough to spend the day with rs while he built up my bike. The attention to detail, (all the time acting like he wasn't tuned in) is simply amazing. Then I get on the thing for my first ride couldn't believe how good it felt. So this is what it's supposed to be like........
Hopefully his parole officer cuts him some slack and lets him continue on his journey of making the most unbelievable frames.

Jack, do us a favor:

Buy, and post pictures of, a really sucky bike.

Some of us are beginning to lose our common frame of reference with you.

(Some of us did long ago.)

Thanks Grant for posting those pics. I have the bike on display at Sundance cycles and it makes for nice eye candy. Jeff, I have the blown pic of the bike and had Richard sign and number it for framing. You are a killer photographer. I will ride it sometime soon but I really do enjoy looking at it as it truly is a work of art.

Thanks Grant for posting those pics.

From the sheer number of photos of your Sachs at the NAHBS now posted on Flickr.com, i've got to think it's one of the most drooled on bikes of the show!

Jack,

as the owner of a Sachs track bike I can tell you the ride is the real gem. You'll get used to how it looks, but everytime you ride it you'll love it even more.

I can get you a passport if you really want to stay,
but it's going to cost you a track bike plus a cross frame,
and you have to earn your spot on the curling team,
a guy needs to draw the line somewhere...

I saw that pic of the BB shell. That means Jack won't be able to sell it in three months (except to maybe his brother, if he has one)... :p

That bike looks amazing.

Threads like this make my wait a bit better or a bit worse or both!

Congratulations

could you possibly hang that on the wall and not ride the hell out of it?

Especially as much as you like to ride!

My e-richie rides better than it looks & I think it looks awesome.

I saw that bike in raw form ready to be shipped to JB for paint, when I was in chester for my fitting........4 months later I got the bike. I've been riding it for almost 5 months. How could you wait this long to ride it?

No criticism intended, I just don't get it.

I own the retro 70's styled track bike that Richie displayed at the first NAHBS. All of my pals thought I was crazy to ride it. They all said it was too beautiful. I ride it anyway. Some of the paint has come off the drop outs from exchanging between gears and road and track wheels, but I don't regret it for the minute. I'll bet Jack rides his, the temptation is too great.

bro I think he will too
a bike not being used is just a bunch of metal (well made and pretty )
it's when the rider gets on that the magic happens imho

if you can't find a place to store
the finest bike on the planet...
my daughter is moving out
and i would dedicate her room
to its proper care
and would promise never, never, never
to ride it in the rain!
that's what my fillmore is for.

Today I saw a Sachs in person for the first time. A simple cassette installation, new chain, and new brake pads were the cause of the visit. I couldn't stop staring. When the bike was in the stand I got a curious glance from the owner after running my hands over the frame. Most beautiful bike I've seen in person (waiting for the elusive Pego sighting). How long's the list right now?
