One of the unfortunate side effects of an incident like that at Virginia Tech is that it tends to "disinhibit" other people's violent behavior. Today, I had just returned to my campus office at the U of M after my noon hour training ride and had just changed my clothes when we were ordered to evacuate the building.
A bomb threat had been made against seven buildings on campus. I had to talk a policeman into letting me back in to get my bike because it was my ride home. My wife said the headline would read "Man blown up as he tries to retrieve bike" But, hey, it was my lovely silver Strong, and I didn't want to lose it!
