Just read this short report from the The Jerusalem Post which I thought was worth sharing with my Serotta pals....

Source: The Jerusalem Post
April 17, 2007

A 75-year-old Israeli professor and Holocaust survivor was killed in the massacre at Virginia Tech Monday when he leaped between the gunman and his students.

According to eye witnesses the heroic action of Liviu Librescu saved the lives of an unknown number of students in his class.

Librescu, who taught mechanics and engineering, immigrated to Israel from Romania in 1978 but had lived in Virginia since 1986.

He was one of 32 people killed in what has been described as the biggest single shooting attack in US history.

The "hero" label is used too often but in this case it couldn't be more appropriate and deserved.

Wooly -- I couldn't agree more...and this guy was 75 years-old. He leads a life of teaching and research in his field of interest and has given back to his community in many ways and dies while saving the lives of his students -- a hero indeed.

great minds...

Not everyone can be a hero like this man. I really don't think most persons really know what they would do in a horrible situation like that.
