How local does a coach need to be to get the most out of him or her? I'd prefer to find someone I could see now and again, but would be ok with seeing on race weekends. I'm not at all interested in the cts type training program. Opinions appreciated.

at work I tell people what to do to get results. I need someone doing that for me right now.

I've had great results with long distance coaching. My motivation is through the roof, and I'm a lot faster than this time last year.
I guess it's CTS like, but Cycling Peaks work for me.
