it has - but it can never be overdone.
it's pal jgreene's web page atmo.

i've always wondered; is there a true
definition for the crown at issue? is a
2-plate crown two separate parts, a 'la
the fisher sand cast, or is a 2-plate just
a part that has a horizontal window on
it, anyplace, and for any length atmo?

yeah that's a good question, since there really are all sorts of ways to emulate the LOOK of this genre of crown. . . However you do it, though, it's a pretty sexy way to tie the fork together.

atmo a true plate crown has seperate plates. The others are pretenders and I like those too. The last crown you show(davis sand cast) in my opinion is not at all even closely related eventhough they are shown in my blog. I'd like to see a modern plate like crown cast for road and track bikes. The richey crown Kirk recast is very nice, but the other mtb crown being done looks like a boat anchor.

i only know of one crown since the 60s
that fits the two-piece definition atmo
and that'd be the top one here:

Doesn't the Luigino have a custom two-piece designed by Dario?

Does this circa 2005 plate crown (http://bp1.blogger.com/_9eq98ghZfUY/RhgobJbnacI/AAAAAAAAACg/1qyyvZKgtqg/s1600-h/IMG_3478.JPG) fit the definition?

Today, probably not, but when that Cinelli was built, it was a state of the art design. Think of the materials and manufacturing processes available 30+ years ago

the cinelli has the same forged crown that is on
jonathan's own track bicycle, the only difference
being that the hole was drilled all the way front
to back atmo.

as you know there are only a few different crowns on that whole blog.

I hope this thread does not get booted for pushing my own blog. I wonder if it helps if I say I get no money for it. I sure could use the submissions though. the well is running dry.
