...or does this forum appear to be taking much longer to load lately? sometimes i give up and move on as the pages either take too long to come up or i get an error message. i've got a broadband connection so i can't imagine what the dial-up folks are having to deal with.

. . . or four. A victim of its own popularity? Look how many people seem to be online now every time I check in--several hundred!

Time for bigger bandwidth server? Andrew? . . . You there, Andrew? . . .

Me too. Perhaps if we all try to post that it is happening to us at the same time it will just fix itself (or jam forever).

The Dialup modem is slower, some compare it to watching vhs in 'slow-mo'... BUT, it delivers a much richer experience. Not richer RE:media per se, but the experience of waiting for the pages to load. It feels like 1996 all over again. I remember 1996. 1996 was good--I was "partying like it was 1999" three years early.

Today's broadband connections are much too quick. Having a fast connection just urges one to click a link. It's as bad as those brifter things. Give me a USR Robotics 14.4k modem anyday. I pine for an era when things were simpler, when "the world wide web" was just a figment in Tim Berners-Lee's imagination and dirty pictures were sold at brick-and-mortar establishments, not *****.com.

Shucks, maybe I'm just'a romantic. Vintage stuff is deep imho. cheers.

Phewww... I thought I was the only one experiencing a veeeeerrrrryyyyyy slow connection. I believed that the signal having to traverse thick foliage and fight wild animals to get here had something to do with it. It's kind 'a nice if you're looking for something soothing to put you to sleep, though.
