View Full Version : Curvy Carbon Forks?

I love swoopy steel forks with "crisp" crowns. As much as I admire some of the modern steel and ti frames, it just seems wrong to me (aesthetically) that they are paired up with a straight carbon fork. Can carbon forks be curvy/swoopy? I suppose there is quite a bit of form-follows-function that dictates the straight form factor of a carbon fork (and mass production economics, as well?) and as a designer I can respect that, just as I love the intuitive "of course!" form of a curvy steel fork. But not all carbon designs are straight... look at boats (ok, fiberglass, but still plastic strands), airplane wings, even bike frames, etc. So why not carbon bike forks?

This is not to impugn the performance of carbon forks. My preference against them is, well, entirely based on aesthetics.
