it looks like something a crack addict designed. no wonder the rest of the world has a lowering opinion of the US. We can't even come up with a national jersey that has our flag on it.

Spiderman inspired? And personally, I think our flag looks like a piece of bad post modern art (whatever that means). I'm not sure its a loss...

Black. I always liked red, white and blue, atmo. Is black the new white?

Yeah, I believe that kit debuted at 06 road worlds, followed by 07 cross worlds and now track worlds.

The good kit deisgners were sick that day.

yes that was the jersey i was looking for. I like the basics. black shorts with either your team or country on the side (whats up with this butt lettering they have today). Basic stars and stripes jersey with (for the pros) a small team lable near the chest.

the 'sash' that he's wearing? My sister wore a belt like that with her red chiffon high school prom dress back in the 80's.

I don't mind the argyle (I'm Scottish by origin).

Fuglicity?

When the kit becomes available in June, I'm down with one. The boss has already approved it. She saw ToC and gave her thumbs-up.

Argyle rules.

I'm not sure what guidelines these national kits are made along these days.

My old team-captain, Kent Lofton, is the legitimate wearer of a national champion jersey, and his looks like this:

Granted, it's a tandem championship.

The kit is made by Voler, who subentered rather quickly to replace Biemme as the official clothing supplier. I'm not surewhat happened, but Biemme had a multi-year sponsorship agreement...

It is normal for the team jerseys to change regularly, it happens in all countries. Remember that USA Cycling does not pay for these jerseys, and the sponsor is limited to a very small logo, so to be able to gain value out of a sponsorship, it is necessary to consider all possible benefits. A sponsor usually gets the right to market the 'national' jersey exclusively, so a new design is important. Just like bike and frame builders often make changes for marketing purposes, the jersey sponsors do the same.

Not sure, but I think it was on Saturday, January 20, 2001

. . . but NOT as a national team kit. Does it even have "USA" or "United States" or a flag ANYWHERE on it? Sheesh. And that helmet with the socks with THIS skinsuit? There oughtta be a law! . . . Can't Voler come up with some plain RW+B socks? Can't Giro come up with a spray painted helmet for ONE frickin' event?

If that's what Vaughter's team's kit looks like and he likes Scotland, then his team should be wearing KILTS--opr would that be skorts?--in their races!

MAN, I'm in a bad mood this morning . . . :crap:

Don't spoil my bad mood! I was having so much fun with it!

Besides, how cananyone see the "USA" if the rider is bent over his bike? Is it on the back, too?

Uh, I think so . . . .

This is weird, you can see the Biemme logo on the kit, but when you go to the USA cycling website under: http://www.usacycling.org/mall/ and click on technical clothing they only list Voler clothing http://www.velowear.com/usacdf.aspx whereas on the sponsor page: http://www.usacycling.org/sponsors/ they list both Biemme and Voler. I suppose that there is some type of differentiation according to event.

It shouldn't need to be a big label. The Belgian kits are often pretty understated and often predominantly blue, a color that's not in their flag.

A good team doesn't need big letters to tell the competition who's kicking their butts, imo. Understatement FTW.

As far as US kits and stars and stripes go, a little goes a long way. Deep blue field with little white stars and restrained red/white accents, please. Like Zabriskie's CSC kit, for example.

I like the argyle, and think that the concept extended to the whole kit might be better than the horrendous spiderman theme.
