just got my new wheelset in from Jeremy

DA10 hubs modified to run 9 speed and the axle was widened 1mm-

Mavic Paris- Roubaix rims 28 spoke count front and rear - wheelsmith spokes

tufo elite 25s- these are actually a very nice tubular- very supple compared to other tufo's that Ive seen- yes I am even trying the tape- the tires weighed in at 285 g

the wheelset came in a 1620g- sans tires of course

these are going to be my new "everyday" wheelset- Ive only gotten in some brief saddle time but so far- I love the way everything works together-

I didnt know DA10 hubs could be modified to run 9. Is this a difficult modification?

Nice wheels too, btw.

jimi- Ill make you a deal . . . if you REALLY want to run these for deerfield- Ill let you use my "deerfield" version that is yet to be built- same front with a 32 rear-

Im not joking- they are your to use- ya down with tubbies-

don- someone good with a lathe can modify the hub - drop jeremy a line

SirTall- I figured you would perk up the the tufos- my plan is to run them daily till they puke- Ill let you know

Congrats Dirt. Those are great looking wheels. I received my new set from Ergott just minutes ago.

Dirkdiggler - they won't wear out...but you can try. D@mn things are the longest wearing tyre I've ever had. I've got a set of NOS GP4s in 32 drilling and DA hubs that I JUST DON'T have the time to put together :( Hmmmm.

Those might be the finest tubular rims ever made, imhoatmoclko. Know where I can find some more? ;-)

Enjoy! These are fantastically right.

You might just puke from riding those things ;) Tufo = might as well ride clinchers. I mean sure they are long wearing and all, but so are Specialized Armadillos and, well, I say no more. Tubulars should ride like tubulars.
Those awesome wheels deserve Veloflex Paris Roubaix tires or similar quality.

Seriously, you will love them anyway. Jeremy does amazing work.

Wait till I finish up my GP4 build. They are a must see and they will have proper tires on them;-)

have you actually used these Tufos- the Elite 25?

it is much different than some of the earlier tufos- it really is supple-

Ive used vittoria- dugast and veloflex tubulars- so I know what you are talking about in ride quality-

Im not going to be so bold as to say the tufos are the same or better than the kings of tubulars-

but the ride quality is close enough (at the lower pressures that I run <90)

then add in the lower cost and durability---- why not try them

I've tried the other stuff (215 etc.) They left a bad taste in my mouth (shouldn't have chewed on them I guess). If these are an improvement over their regular tubulars, then that's different. Good to hear about a decent riding, long lasting tubular. The Elite 23s are like riding flats.

Eric, as pennance for raining on Jason's parade you must send me the GP4 wheelset for a long trail period roughly equal to the amt. of time it takes me to get off my dead arse to build them myself ;)

Jason

Tufo recommends crazy high pressure despite the evidence that it can be counter-productive on all but glass smooth road surfaces. I have never understood this.

I might need a restraining order when you seen them:-)

Seriously, Jason, I'm so happy for you. Still waiting for the right opportunity to get a pair. They have to be the vintage you have and either 32/32 or 28/32.
