It's a tough situation.
Likely all his competitors were doing it too,
and i think they sincerely believe it's not cheating
if they all did it.
Interesting that at Telecom, apparently Zabel didn't dope.

Reminds me of Mark McGwire before Congress, though not nearly as pathetic...

Sure, he's openly saying he does not want to be held accountable--but then, what good does holding him accountable do for the sport? Rewriting record books is not sport.

Really? You mind if I ask why?

Looks just like every other too small bike
with a random top tube angle to me.
Just sayin'...

Back on the original topic:
When I read that piece earlier today I had to shake my head and re-read it several times. My utter inability to produce such a non-statement is why I'll never be a successful politician. Why bother putting out those words? What person or organization was supposed to read those words and feel they're anything other than an admission, and for what purpose?
It would have been funny if his reply had been, "64? That's not fair. I'm Mr. 60."

it'd do no more than any other former racer coming clean,
and there are those who have. the sport's culture is engrained
with drug use and cheating, and has been since the tdf began
(as well as in the 1920s msg six-day era). face it. once you/we
do, all these stories about drugs in sport will be no more alarming
than finding out that the pm of france had mistresses. no one is
surprised or even cares atmo.
