Laid my money down for a Legend Ti ST. I have not picked a color or scheme yet. It would be interesting to get other people's opinion. I have not put in all the possible combinations.

Choices by color, decal, scheme

1. Competition Red, Yellow with Black outline Decals, Peleton
2. Competition Red, Solid White Decals, 1/2 - 1/2
3. Sapphire Blue, Solid White Decals, 3/4 - 1/4
4. Sapphire Blue, Titanium with Charcoal outline Decals, Fade
5. Competition Yellow, White with Black outline Decals, Panel
6. Competition Yelllow, Red with Black outline Decals, Soild Paint
7. Matte Titanium, Matte Titanium with Polished decal, No Color
8. Matte Titanium, Yellow with Black outline Decals, No Color
9. New Zealand Pearl, Solid White, Panel Fade
10. New Zealand Pearl, White with Black outline, Elliptical Panel

LM, welcome to the forum.

You'll get more responses if you create a poll (although that is a heck of a lot of options to wade through).

Yeah a lot of choices no where near all the possiblities. Just shows how indecisive I am over the choices. BTW when I view the post there is a poll followed by the other text. I didn't think the forum software would do that.

I have had two Legend Ti's since 1993, both polished with white decals. I have never grown tired of that scheme.

One of the finest Legends I ever saw was a 3/4 paint/polish sapphire blue with white decals w/ yellow outline...like the downtube decal on my CSI. I don't think they offer this style anymore, but they might have some old ones lying around.

I am also partial to white bikes...a 3/4 white with polished ti rear...ti with charcoal outline or white with black outline decals would look first class!

As far as "fancy" paint goes...I've always liked this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/Serotta-Legend-ST-Road-Bike-Titanium-Frame-59cm_W0QQitemZ160097605848QQcategoryZ98084QQssPage NameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

My choices:
1/2 and 1/2: 1/2 matte titanium with polished decals and 1/2 polished titanium with matte decals, like the Legend in the picture.

Another killer choice, ATMO, would be another 1/2 and 1/2: 1/2 New Zealand Pearl and 1/2 polished titanium and polished decals revealed under clear-coat on the down tube.

No fades or panels on a Legend for me.

My Legend looks like the photo Dave posted--that's a classic look. I also like these better than your choices:

I'm kinda partial to white these days.

I don't know if this helps or not...

I'm partial to the 'race' scheme or the 3/4-1/4.

I can empathize with you - picking a color can be nerve-wracking.

My 2001 Legend Ti was polished with Charcoal/Ti decals and had a classy, understated look to it. I really prefer Ti bikes bare, such as Dave's pic of 1/2-1/2 polished & matte above.

But, if you want color (and by your choices I think you do) I think a red & white 1/2-1/2 or white-into-red Sizzler scheme with either white / black / or silver decals would really hold up. :)

I voted for the Sapphire Blue + natural Ti.

But, the pic of Mr. Thompson's matte+polished is an eye opener. I'd ride that bike with pride. Not Gay Pride, mind you, just rider's pride.

Here's a few threads that helped me when I was deciding on a finish for a new Serotta:

Hey everyone this has been real helpful! All the pictures has expanded my idea of possible schemes. When you are getting a custom bike the paint scheme is a big part of it. The poll shows Sapphire Blue is really popular. Second to that is matte finish with no paint. Unlike aluminum or steel titanium looks really good brushed or polished. Partly painted showing bare titanium is a look I favor.

Thanks again for the different ideas and examples. More schemes helps me get to the right choice.

Hmmm, if it only had a 1 1/8" headtube--it would be superlative!
