As I live in desert I've forgotten what it's like to ride in the rain (other than the quick t-storm). I currently have PR2s (love 'em) and some Conti 4000's in my collection. Which would be the better rain tire (23 or 25). Thanks for your help.

The Conti 4000's, especially if they're 25.

Agreed - they're bomb proof tires, yet fast and light.

If you're talking about really crummy weather/ lots of crud on the road, snow melt, sand, etc. I'm a fan of the 4Seasons as well...

i've ridden a number of tires in the rain and in the end I think it all comes down to being careful. I've slipped on gp3000 23's and cheap ultra sport 25's. If I had the devotion I'd get a mountain bike with fat tires, low psi and discs for the rain...

deechee is on the right track- but you dont need a MTB

take just about any good quality tire- drop the psi down and be careful in the corners-

if fact just leave the pressure lower all the time- you will be happier-

have flatted in gp3000 on what paul sherwin would call "flints" several times

check your brake pads too. worn pads in the rain make things sporty.

and read the thread on brake pads....GPH Swissstop or join that Salmon club.

also ceramic wall Mavic rims (open pro) help braking as well.

25 Michelin Pro2 work well for me...but our knowledge of rain is limited in Australia at the moment. Wet stuff falling from the sky, right?
