I was hemming over this Breadwinner on the TPC for about a week and then it was gone. I was curious if anyone on the forum scooped it up.

Curious paint scheme, but otherwise I really like the looks of that frame.

I was smitten with the paint. I hesitated for a few reasons, including trying to be vigilant with spending money unnecessarily this year but now I’ve totally identified a bunch of stuff I could have sold to cover the frame.

I like these G-Roads a lot. That Igle segmented fork really completes the package. What was TPC asking?

I think it was $1500.

It's alright but I've been regretting it all weekend so much that I've annoyed my wife.

I'm trying to walk the line this year. Child care is expensive and trying to knock out the Roth's & 529's are the priority.

Plus I'm not going on any off road touring trips for along time!

Is that geo # correct? 530mm ETT.... for a medium.....

Yeah, I was concerned with that too. Better just save some money and get one made for me.

But I might have to use that paint job!

Don't love the paint but man that Frame+Fork combo looks like a blast to ride

Maybe built for flat or swept touring bars?

Maybe built for flat or swept touring bars?

Wouldn’t that mean even longer ETT than drop bars?

Interesting.

I drooled over this for a but, even put it in my cart but felt the TT would’ve been a touch small. I speaks to me. I’d really like to see this built.

I can't remember the specific frame but they had one where I was 99% sure that what they labeled ETT was the actual TT length and ETT was considerably longer due to the slope. I suspect that the same was true of this one.

I considered it, was a great deal - but close to 7 pounds for frame and fork!

Well I think I’ve gotten the regret and swearing about missing this one out of my system but I do have to appreciate how thinking about a new bike build has reignited my desire to ride.

It’s been a long winter and lots of changes have happened this past year but I really miss riding.. And it’ll be even longer till I can go for a long tour and even longer till I can ride across the county I’m happy to have reclaimed the spark for riding.

Cheers!

The G-Road arrives in Chicago this week. I was taking a risk on the sizing, but we'll see how it shapes up.

Awesome news & I'm glad someone on the forum (and in Chicago) scooped it up.

I've been checking out TCP more and does anyone have a first hand review of their geometry numbers?

A few of the bikes I was checking out looked a little larger than the numbers they provided, additionally the lack of range of geometry numbers (especially with non-stock bikes) seemed to be lacking.

Yes, I am an idiot and my brain read that as reach not ETT. Cool bike anyways, I love the paint.

I bought a Calfee from Clean39T who originally purchased it from TPC only a week earlier. It was significantly larger than advertised, the ST x TT numbers were nowhere close (think 63x63 as opposed to 60x60, or thereabouts). TPC did make it right in the end from what I understand.

I know a couple of people who have bought from TPC and the numbers were for sure off, but the buyers knew the stock GEO so they purchased with confidence. They really need to dedicate more time to getting the geo charts and measurements right. There were a couple of frames I was eyeing but the numbers scared me away.

From my experience with a segmented steel fork with 1 1/8" steerer, I bet nearly half that weight is the fork. ;)

And you get to enjoy looking at it from time to time while you ride. Happy feelings make things lighter.

Love the paint. It reminds me of those great Courage CX bikes too.

I called and their specialist eyeballed things and gave some generic "this would fit a rider of this height". I think these frames are all packed and ready, so they don't take the time to get all of the measurements. It would help quite a bit since we don't have much else to go on.

TPC offered to reach out to the builder on my behalf and obtain geometry and build charts, though.

That's great to know because I have to admit keeping my eye on TCP's offerings as of late.

Good to know that I can reach out for more info...I wish I had did that with the Breadwinner!
