In the process of making the top adjustment (to set clearance between chain guide outer plate and chain) I unscrewed the top adjustment screw completely out of the derailleur. Not giving it a second thought I screwed it back in and continued my adjustment process only to find that it no longer works; i.e., no matter how much I screw, or un-screw, the top adjustment screw it does not change the position of the chain guide. Does anyone know how to re-set this screw properly?
