I was wondering if anyone has had a titanium frame repaired? The bike in question is 1996 Legend Ti that developed a crack in the chainstay is this fairly common?

Thanks

Ti frames are repairable. Serotta does a great job in this area. i've seen 3 that they have done and you'd never know the frame was repaired.

Serotta repaired a Legend Ti for me a few years ago to look like new. I just sent a Zinn back for a similer crack on a chainstay and that came back looking new too.

My old Legend Ti accidently ran into a brick wall as it was "roof surfing" on a Honda. (Long vacation, too little riding, too much beer.) Bent the toptube, downtube, and headtube. Serotta did the repair and the bike actually tracked better than new. Riding with no hands was always a study in concentration before the repair, but after it was a cinch.

Thanks for the replies. I was worried titanium would be difficult to repair but it's not.
