I'm looking at one on my desk - what happened to that post to make it crack?

sometimes you're the thud buster, sometimes you get busted by the thud.

I was on my phone so I did not see that the crack went through the post. yikes.

I had same thing happen to a Thomson Elite. I suspect it happened from riding my cross bike down what should be a mtb trail.

the masterpieces are pretty fragile posts imo. I know mine had an indent from the seatpost clamp even though I always used a torque wrench on it.

thomson is very good about warranty issues if you call them. that crack is in a place that is unexpected for sure
those bolts and cradle and especially the conical washers still have value as spares, if you are inclined to get another thomson post (I would)

Thanks for the messages, I’m sure it’s spoken for if Thomson won’t replace it. I’ve messaged the 1st two in line. I had simply assumed Thomson wouldn’t replace it. No idea how it happened. It came on a bike I bought.

I snapped a silly light Control Tech post way back when. If I recall right they didn't offer it for very long.
Honestly I'm glad I got out with an intact sack.
