Probably covered elsewhere, but what's the rough amount the title sponsor pays for a team like Disco? $5MM? $10MM?

If cycling did not have the seemingly endless list of doping suspicions and busts I think that McDonalds, CocaCola, Budweiser and others would be battling it out for sponsorship rights.
I am hopeful cycling gets to that level.

That would be one STIFF group of riders on that team.

Team Google! God knows they have the cash.
.
It would be a ballsey call for one of the team's owners to go with money from the cancer sticks...
But it reminds me of the fun that was had with Bo Hamburger's name ("Hamburger sizzled today" etc). So if US Postal/Discovery morphed into Team Marlboro you end up with:
"Basso smokes them in the hills..."
"Danielson gasps and wheezes behind the leading pack of riders..."
And so on.

Cycling will NEVER get to that level. Unless 100K fans are willing to pack Fontana to watch a crit...it's NEVER gonna happen.
