I'm a serious VFR750 enthusiast.

I just don't have many good pics of mine.

For the dual sport enthusiasts, back when I had a BMW R100GS-PD.

BouderGeek - sweetest sounding bike _by far_. I still cannot believe I sold my '98. Staintune pipe was sweet. Now I ride an FJR1300, it's no pocket rocket but is sure is comfy for those long distance rides.

I had one of these for a couple of years. It now lives in Ramona, California as a decoration.

^^^ Like fat chicks... Fun to ride but you don't want your friends to see you.

My favorite is the one I currently have...an '05 636 Kawi. I have no pictures and for good or bad, aren't being produced anymore.

Nice Ducati SPOKE, now thats a bike that was NOT designed for pimple faced kids wearing tank tops and flip flops to pose around on. The ohlins, brembo, and marelli bits added to that narrow chassis go hand in hand with one of the best sounding engines ever produced.

To all the bikes posted....good stuff. Now patiently waiting for the new Moto GP to get started. The way Bayliss rode last season in WSBK, maybe Ducati will make another "special". ;)

These days it's one of my sons that has the bug. This year it's a warmed over GSXR 1000. The year before it was a 900 RR. I was never a Suzuki fan, but this thing is an animal. Unbelievable power. Not as classy as a Ducati, but every bit as fun to ride and parts and mods are inexpensive.
Anyone remember the RD 350 and 400's?
I miss two strokes.

Yes, I remember them BUT that gives away our age.......

The GSXR is a very good motorcycle. It loves to be hated due to it's sucsess in AMA Superbike. Mat Mladin and now Ben Spies has dominated the field for the last 6-7 years on that (version) bike. I like the raw nature of the Kawi ZX-10 and the Ducati's. The superbikes are just what they are...and if not respected they can bite hard.

The modern 600's are as close to two strokes as you will find nowadays. The powerbands come high and quick...and a whole lot of fun.

As a side note, many of the professional racers train on road bicycles and put in some serious miles that would impress even the hard core cyclist. Sportbikes and road bicycles have many similarities and I for one love both with a passion.

The wife ... er "convinced" me to get off the cycle when she was expecting our first. I never had a true modern sport bike, but I was riding a basic bike that had a fair bit of get up and go to it--an old ('81) KZ1000.

I don't regret the trade a bit, but there sure are times here and there when I wouldn't mind opening up that throttle again.

I ready to get rid of my starter bike (98 Honda Nighthawk 750) and buy something new.

Leading candidates:

2007 Triumph Daytona 675 (extra sporty)
2007 BMW F800S (middle of the road sporty)
2007 Triumph Tiger 1050 (mildly sporty)

But, then again, its nice not having any payments right now...

Yeah, I had a red 1978 RD400. I think that I had the only one within a hunded miles of Detroit. When I visited my older brother in Monterey, Ca (Ft Ord) they were all over the place.
I then sold it and bought another "rare" bike...a 1982 Kaw GPz750. Cost me $2700 on closeout. There were plenty of 550's and 1100's but hardly any 750's.
