Is there anything special about the size or diameter of this cable and housing. Thanks Smiley

just measured the rival cable kit and a new Dura Ace cable kit:

SRAM vs D/A
Derrailleur inner wire 1.12mm vs 1.27mm
Derrailleur outer housing 4.19mm vs 4.09mm
brake inner wire 1.50mm vs 1.63mm
brake outer housing 4.88mm vs 4.93mm

hope this helps.

Can I use a DA wire and cable on a SRAM ?? or brakes housing and cable inter changeable ? Just curious why any difference and if I can't must I always order cable and housing only suitable to SRAM ? Thanks Spoke

I have used them interchangably without any problems, cables, housings and all fittings work fine.

Smiley,
i know of no reason why a shimano cable kit would not work just fine with SRAM.
what you need to watch out for is the diameters of the inner wires vs the inside diameters of the cable housing. there is a considerable difference between the brands available.
i've tried many of the aftermarket inner wires and cable housing over the years and was never completely satisfied with their performance for one reason or another so i have settled on using only campy or shimano cable kits on my bikes and my customers bikes. they always work without any fuss.
