Does anyone out there in forum land have an old 80's frame lying around with rear dropouts that would accomodate a fixie build? I'm moving to NYC on march 1st, and I want to build up a city-bike.

Looking for 57-59 range. I have a 1" fork for this project already (Thanks Fixed!)

PM or post what you have and how much you'd like for it. You can then put the money towards a new shiny frame for the spring. . . or something.

Thanks,
Dan

You can get a new fixie frame from an NYC mfg on eBay for $129. The only thing that wouldn't work are the frames are nude and need to be painted. Seems like a great deal for what you're looking to do. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your move to NYC.

Website currently down?

No affiliation on my part; a colleague is building one up now.

I guess we should be celebrating your finding gainful employment?

I have a Schwinn LeTour frame that I was going to build as a fixe. I have since lost interest and would be willing to let it go for $75 shipped (most of which is shipping).

Specs:
early 80s - headbadge indicates 84
built in america - probably the Mississippi plant
4130 Chromoly double butted tubes
57cm seat tube center to center
56.5cm top tube center to center
123mm rear spacing
86mm fork spacing
46cm chain stay length
105.5 wheel base
26.5 post
27" or 700c wheels and long reach brakes with nutted mounting
Has orig. headset but it is trash

PM me if interested
