Should Pro Cycling...

Should pro cycling become more like other professional sports (NFL, NBA, etc.)? Is it even possible? I thought the Protour was an attempt to consolidate the sport for better (more profitable) marketing, but this effort seems to be struggling at the moment. Thoughts?

A few large greedy organizations all going for the power play.

And none are putting the sport as the first priority versus their own greed.

And the riders get the short end. Just seems like the sports that have a centralized governing body are more profitable, thus able to compensate the athletes better.
