I started using CREST years ago when they were sponsoring a team and I've just kept buying it out of habit.

I was using Crest Tartar Control. Then I went to my dentist last week and he told me to stop using it as it's too abrasive and I was getting grooves in my teeth from "over aggressive" brushing (a side effect of growing up in the "brush till you bleed" era). Anyway, he told me to use a gel toothpaste. As I was settling up upon leaving what did they give me? A soft bristle toothbrush, some minty floss, and a tube of Crest Tartar Control toothpaste. I had to laugh.

I like Tom's too but quit using it when they quit offering/carrying the peppermint stuff.

I use Crest. Some of my racer friends used to ride for the Crest Cycling Team.
Nostalgia factor, I guess.

Crest is best for polishing chrome frames.

How do I know this ?

A friend of mine bought a chrome Galmozzi at the Cirque and spent
the evening sitting in the hotel lobby polishing the frame with Crest.
Frame looked excellent by the end of the evening.

Crest, its a chrome polish and a tooth whitener.!

Tom's Fennel or cinnamint. Tom's is owned by Colgate now...sellouts!

The production facility is still in Maine and it was not a complete buyout. All the employees stayed. Let me correct that - no one was asked to leave. :D

In the late nineties they were either chewing through their Chemists or were constantly hiring. Probably growth. It seemed like they had a add in the paper everymonth.

i've never spent a lot of time looking at the paste. every dentist in my family tells me to concentrate on the brush. i find a super soft compact deal and always seem to get rave reviews from the dentists. one pass at a 45' angle swirled on the gum line and a second pass to lightly clean the teeth.

I thought the ad with Emeril trying a new flavor of toothpaste was cute maybe the first time I saw it.

BTW, consumer reports says Ultrabrite did better than most at stain removal. Plus it was lots less expensive.

Big improvement though over the paste apparently used by ancient Romans. Urine was added as an ingredient because the ammonia helped to remove stains. Yuk.
