Which of these rims would you prefer for a 150 lb experienced, fit rider mostly on good to moderate road surface in hilly Austin TX. Club rides, centuries, groups, fitness, etc... Laced up to either Dura Ace or White Ind. H1 hubs ?? Will be put on a custom CDA with carbon seat stay and carbon fork.
Thanks !

Think about the DT 1.1 rims....They ride pretty well. But then again so do the Mavic OPENs
Best of luck with the new CDA. That is one of the nicest frames I have ridden.

Hi,
I have all three. I can't tell any difference between the IRD Cadence rims laced to DT Swiss hubs, and The DT hubs built the same. My Mavic Opens are laced to Record hubs and are great training wheels, but the others "feel" more lively.

Ergott built me a pair of wheels, 28 hole IRD Cadence rims w/offset rear, laced to H1 hub using Sapim Laser spokes,2X F /3X R. Light enough and very comfortable.I weigh 145-150.Silver too.

mavic is your plain jane go to option
with velocity you have more options on colors and off set spokes
IRD from what Ive seen are probably you lightest option- but not by much
like others said dont forget dts either
none are really better or worse- the real magic is in a quailty build-
I have 3 of the 4 (no IRDs) - I like them all
