I'm going to dabble in the dark side. I picked up a IF deluxe for a great price. I've got the FOX fork on the way (can't afford a cheap fork that will break after three hours sending me over the bars like the Manitou that Performance currently has on sale for 50% off).
Now I just need good looking silver bits for the build. I will likely go XT level build with V brakes. Thinking of a titanium stem. My dilemma is finding a good looking seatpost in 29.4. I wanted to go retro XTR since it looks like my fave, the Dura Ace. But, alas, not finding one in 29.4. I don't like the Thomson. Any suggestions?
Saddle suggestions? I love my Brooks Swallow, but not buying a Swallow for a MTB. Also, bike is Eric Roman Pink, so need a saddle that will coordinate. Any suggestions.
Cranks. Anything out there silver with silver rings?

Yeah,
I'd found the Kalloy. It is silver. Somewhat generic, though. But, it may be the best option for us silver afficionados.
Thanks,
Jon
Get a shim so that you can use a 27.2mm seatpost and then see if you can find a silver XTR post.

Brakes -Avid SL v's are silver and a lot lighter than XT's and work better.
Saddle -You asked for it.... http://cgi.ebay.com/Terry-PINK-Damselfly-Titanium-Ladies-Saddle-New_W0QQitemZ170077406054QQihZ007QQcategoryZ42319Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Well Jon: you liked the comfort of my Brooks way back then so this may work for you too: try WTB saddles. They are comfy, tough, cheap.

My favorite non-Brooks saddle is an old WTB/Specialized with perforated leather cover and Ti rails from about 1993.
Specialized Prolong Evolution? Great saddle but hard to find.
What's not to like on the Thomson? Bulletproof, infinitely adjustable, and fairly priced. Silver, too...

GDW, I wasn't sure if a shim was going to be the best way to go. But, I really like the XTR seatpost. It's just so... gorgeous. Do most people think this is a perfectly acceptable way to go?
Thomson... it just doesn't do it for me.
The whole frame is pink. A pink saddle would just seem a bit much. Also, not pink enough for Eric Roman pink. Would a antique brown Brooks look good? Something in the cheaper end.
I have considered the Avid's for brakes. Might go this route, especially if I can just sub them into a build kit.
Jon
I didn't think you would be too impressed with those saddles. :D
