Are there chamois that are thinner than a diaper pad but have some density to them?

Exte Ondo had a nice one but I haven't seen the brand around in years.

Yes, I have a pair of Exte Ondo's and the pad is thin and dense. They are about 10 years old now. Unexpected high quality.

I agree with this. It was called golden chamois. The best I've used.

Reminds me of Giordana Fr-c and maybe Rapha, ymmv.

when foam/coolmax pads no longer get it done, I swear by santini under various names:

twist-gel
gel-intech/GIT
NAT

Not sure which bibs you have been using to compare but you might take a look at these.

IBEX had greater density than others, yet you likely need to find them as NOS somewhere.

I prefer smaller, denser pads and have started to explore the “tri” offerings to replace my worn PI (not diaper but not small either). Something like 12 years ago, I had the perfect bib from Diamarchi that had the smallest, firmest chamois I have seen or experienced and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, the market did not share my assessment, and the company quickly phased it out.

My favorite currently is the Craft Essence with C3 chamois, which is smaller and firmer. I also like the company’s green material initiative using recycled materials.

Online at Prendas and CentoCycling...

I have a bunch of EtxeOndo stuff....but pretty sure they phased out the golden chamois 10+ yrs ago...all their stuff has Elastic Interface now....

This thread has somehow reminded me that my very first pair of bike shorts were made of.... wait for it.... wool ! And lined with, yep, you guessed it.... chamois. All natural :)

I’m glad I’m not riding centuries in those these days.
