View Full Version : Celeste bikes that are not Bianchi

Mrs. Joe thinks she might like to have her Serotta HSG, currently white with red accents, painted Celeste. A search of the General Discussion and Custom Bikes forums yields few examples that are not Bianchi.

Does anyone have pics of non-Bianchi bikes using a Celeste paint scheme?

A lot of Rock Lobsters are pretty close to celeste.

A little Celeste goes a long way. A recent change in honor of a Bianchi I owned many moons ago.

When I did a repaint a few months ago, I almost went with this...

Trek project one will make you anything you want. Saw a Celeste Madone, confusing.

80’s steel Treks would use that color.

I added some Celeste to my bike in honor of my old Bianchi that was squashed by a car.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200916/59449cb0a47d8164b4b01cb07b9f7422.jpg

I've wondered this too. Specialized seems to be a large contributor to 'celeste theft' too.

Here’s one that I am contemplating buying from a guy locally. It’s A warranty replacement frame - never built up. The one thing I don’t love is that it IS Celeste and not a bianchi... I’m still on the fence about it. Has a Reynolds carbon fork with it, and I have a 10 speed Sram red group that would go on it. And I need to figure out wheels. Maybe a new set... please talk me into or out of this build. I’m considering other frames of course... (and entertaining ideas if anyone has anything).

It's officially called "Gloss Cosmic Mint with Oil Slick"
but my Tarmac is very, very Celeste.

Agreed! Rock Lobster bicycles look terrific in celeste/seafoam green. :hello:

No Rock Lobsters????To my eye, the classic Rock Lobster color is more of a green-green—as Blue Jays says, a seafoam green. The classic Bianchi celeste color is a blue-green, similar to turquoise. The two are close, but different. Kinda like the belts in The Devil Wears Prada ("It's a tough call... they're so different!"):

I have to say that I have an irrational soft spot for celeste Bianchis.

Torpado bikes also came in celeste historically. There are a couple hanging up in an LBS near here iirc.

Makes me remember that I had a Haro bike back in the 80s that was very much Celeste! Can't find a picture.

In person, Rock Lobster seafoam is a decidedly different color from celeste, the latter leaning much closer to blue.

Do they have a trademark on the color? T-mobile has one on their magenta.

Celeste means "Sky Blue" so...The first one is more blue than Bianchi celeste. The second one seems closer, but is perhaps a bit too green. Bianchi celeste is an elusive blue-green. That said, Bianchi has used different formulations over the years.
