I have Chorus CT 10-speed crank arms - 110 BCD.

Need rings and like the gray 5 bolt XPSS 11-speed compact rings. Any reason that they won't work together?

I'll be running 11-speed mixed group (DA 9000 FD/RD/Shifters)

Do the 11-speed rings bolt right up or is there something I am missing?

THANKS in advance.

I believe some of them will but not all. I think the bolts and intendations in the rings / crank may differ. Peter will know .)

What do you think?

Wondering if anyone has experience with using 5 bolt 11-speed chain rings on the 10-speed crank?

When did Campy move from 110mm to its proprietary 110/112 bcd on compacts.

I have a set of Record rings off an old 10 spd carbon fiber square taper crank, but didn't reply to your WTB because I have no idea if they'd fit your application.

This is the crank I have, looking for 10/11 speed rings that will fit:

http://www.bikerecyclery.com/campagnolo-record-ct-compact-carbon-crankset-10-speed-ultra-torque-175mm-50-34mm-w-bb/

These have the hidden 5th bolt that *only* fits campy rings because it is slightly off center.

More info: https://branfordbike.com/chainrings
In 2005, Campagnolo introduced a compact crank to accomodate smaller chain ring sizes (i.e. 50/34). The rings use asymmetric 5 bolt, 110mm BCD design with the 5th hidden bolt at 112mm BCD. Therefore, you cannot use non-Campagnolo, symmetrical 5 bolt 110mm BCD chain rings.

10/11 5 arm cranks are the same.

10/11 5 arm cranks are the same.

I think that's true within the same group level, but keep in mind that hidden 5th arm chainrings are not always interchangeable between groups. Specifically, lower level groups (Centaur, Veloce, Mirage) used thinner 2.7mm chainrings, while higher level groups (Record, Chorus, Athena) used thicker 3.5mm chainrings. The reason the chainring thickness is important is because the big chainring is bolted to the inner face of the back of the crank arm, but the outer face of the non-hidden spider arms, so the chainring thickness has to match the lateral distance between the mounting faces.

As to the question about when Campagnolo went to the proprietary 110/112mm chainrings, I don't the exact year, but all hidden 5th arm compact chainrings use the 110/112mm chainrings, while non-hidden 5th arm compact chainrings use the standard 110mm BCD.

So you can have either 50/34 on:

1) Silver Chorus 10 speed OR
2) Grey Chorus 11 speed

On the same Chorus 110/112 crankset. But NOT the veloce, athena, etc.

That is the info I needed.

Yes. The 11 speed campy rings will fit your cranks.

It's not really 110mm BCD..it's 110 and 112 for the hole behind the crank arm.

TA and others make some really good, 10/11s Campag compact compatible, chainrings.

BUT, no problem running '11s' rings with an otherwise 10s 'system'.

Fellow PL-er had a perfect set of rings for my project.. when the 595 is finished, I'll post up. It will be an evolving build, starting with 'on-hand' DA and Campy 11-speed bits plus Ciamillo brakes and carbon wheels...

More to come in a couple of weeks.
