I noticed this eBay listing a few weeks ago for an unmolested 50th anniversary De Rosa and thought I'd share. No affiliation with the seller and absolutely no intention of buying it but wow, this 17 year-old special issue pegs all the needles for me; however, hard to justify a wall hanger. Lots of photos scrolling down the add. Exquisite example IMHO.

I *know* it’s 17 years old, but not much on that to be improved on in my view. Must be getting old...

What has this world come to, when a CF frame with a sloping TT is a "classic" ?

I too must be getting old.

I don’t often ride carbon fiber, but when I do, it’s lugged. Nicely executed bike. That’s no wall hanger.

In 2020 we are definitely on the other side of the bell curve when it comes to the aesthetics of carbon bikes.

The DeRosa is a stunner.

^^^This^^^ ;)

I am completely off Carbon for years now but I agree...Lugged Carbon was nice & far better than monocoque .... rides like wood frames

It is like Beta vs VHS one won favor not because of quality but cost/profit margins

At least it has rim brakes and a curved fork.

Here you go, from yesterday's ride.

Box section tubular rims... like riding on a thin layer of velvet.

lovely bike,almost perfect,the anodized headset seems a bit off,but i nitpick.
my only de rosa is the same model Primato in orange but sadly it was the previous year with a plastic fork and thus not worthy of a bike porn thread. :(

Hey, I had that same bike and color way until a Buick took me and it out. Still have the frame hanging in basement bent down tube and seat tube combined.

This is what replaced it - '96 DeRosa Primato ELOS. Rides like a dream
