I haven't had a chance to try out an Attack or HSG Carbon yet, but I need a recommendation from someone who has put both of them through their paces. I can ride a stock frame size, so the custom option on the Attack is not as important to me. However, as a racer & sprinter I need a stiff (yet still vertically compliant) bike on which I can crank down on with minimal flex while rubbing elbows with the rest of the pack. If you have ridden both bikes and have put them through their paces, I would appreciate your opinion.

You may want to rethink the custom option. If you like to "crank down" the custom option of increasing drivetrain stiffness may appeal to you and your riding application. After all, it is the biggest benefit to a custom bike. However, the amount of power you produce during a sprint is relative and should be taken into account when comparing someone elses feelings on the two bikes. Body mass as well.
