the bike so gets the job done. stiff, comfortable, balanced, loves cornering. i heart kirk's bike.

i don't heart all those guys from the App State and Spin Cycle teams. typical fatmo race. i get in every move *but* the one that makes and laps the field. swoop is right. its all about suffering. i know ---- well I could have jumped on the move if I had really dug in....next time....

fat, never go with the first 3 moves. never.
give up your life for the 4th, 5th, 6th.
after that..ride it in man. youre done for the day.
bike racing is simple after all.

you know what.. just tons of respect for you being out there. no matter what category.. i love everyone that has the balls to show up.

....only problem is last week the very first move lapped the field.

hey, i'm just a 3 bozo with no teammates. no move is bad move for me right now, but then again i'm a nutcase.

Fatboy:

Hos many guys do you really need to watch? Are the same guys making the moves that count? This is usually the case. Keep your head up and your brain engaged. Watch what is going on. You will usually see patterns, at least I do after 6 or 700 races. Stevep is right of course, the first few moves rarely work. Just keep at it.

why are you watching them, as if they each have
some great bike or 10 thousand miles in their legs. jeez.
you fat effin' robert, the doktor robert to those in the
know, and you have 2 legs and a lung set just like
the rest of the yokels that pay to race. ya' gotta get
outa' that i'm waiting for the right move to go with
mindset and take it to the effin' man atmo.

do these guys race on ducks? no. roadmasters? no.
cadillac? hell no. they each have a bike and you have
an even bad azz-er bike. they train. you train.

reading the race doesn't always mean that you turn
the pages and wait for a good action scene. fatro is
the action. go make it happen atmo.

Man, after reading that I want to go race my bike or at least kick somebody's ***! I'm an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE!

Uh..what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

Atmo = Tony Robbins. Who knew?

Atmo moonlighting (no wonder the list keeps getting longer and longer...)

obtuse
02-03-2007, 07:41 PM
stop thinking. if you're worrying about "moves" you're not racing....think with your blood; if you don't you may as well pull out on the second lap because riding a bike around in a circle with a bunch of other idiots is a stupid thing to do if you ever take the time to think about it.

this is right in my rather paltry experience. you just go after it, see someone you don't think should be passing you, tuck in and try to wax him later . . .

Just when you think you are gonna get dropped, yell at someone in Italian and throw your frame pump through there front wheel! The rest will slow down in fear that you will cut there achillies after the race, and they will "quit the game"! CHOW BABY!

PS I hate race advise?

oh yeah right, the only thing silca imperos were ever good for . . .

AgilisMerlin
02-03-2007, 09:39 PM
my frame fit silca always used to explode, as the plastic white threaded piece would explode with the handle and the al. shaft............. out the back of the pump...................

atmo feels it

i don't really watch nobody...i watched the first two get sucked back, then when a big sucker who was looking strong went, i bridged. we worked. spokes' HSG guy came up to us and did a nice job of slowing us down with some half-hearted pulls. we get caught. i counter. get caught. *then* the move went -- I "thought" I was tired, but shoulda just sucked it up and gunned it. tried to bridge a couple of laps later. two teams shutting it down. made a two-laps to go bid for 5th. got sucked up outta the last turn.

i think behind a keyboard (maybe). i don't think in a race. i just go when the mood hits me, and since i'm usually by myself, i'm in the mood a lot. its gonna work eventually.

yeah

when you think about it, bike racing is like a gay pickup bar, on wheels. sure, you can check out a couple of guys, but really, you just gotta keep shakin your thing until you get lucky.
