I spent past week in Ocean City MD fishing the mid atlantic 500 fishin tourny.
I have fished this tourny 11 times over the last 13 years.
Had a great time again this year. Fished 3 days of 5 days. Only can fish 3 days.
Caught 7 white marlin,3 blue marlin 4 decent yellow fin tuna and a bunch of Mahi the last day.
We had 3 of the white's that would qualify but we knew they would not bring us any $$ so we chose to release them instead of killing for no good reason.
The last day with 2 hours left to fish till lines out we found a mahi hole and just circled for 2 hours and boated well over 30 mahi.( a fav for fish taco's).
The one blue marlin was 101" long, min is 99", but thin and we knew it would not make the 400# weight limit. It was still a 2+ hour fight to get that one to the boat.
I was done with the rod after that for the rest of the day. 2 hours of arm burning and can't pass the rod,I was toasted.
Nothing like being with good friends in the offshore canyons for a good time.
