PSA/Review: Supacaz silicone gel bar tape

The Mona Lisa Saperstein (https://parksandrecreation.fandom.com/wiki/Mona-Lisa_Saperstein) of bar tape.
Refuses to hold its position, within a couple of rides gaps will open up forcing you to rewrap, tightening the overlap until eventually half of the tops of your bars will go uncovered…and still it will come open.
The. Worst.
Recommend that you (Mike V :banana:) avoid no matter how cheap it is, since it's worthless.

Yeah I always thought she (he?) held position incredibly well, so the OPs critique is waaaaay off base. :banana:

But for real if this is the same tape as below yeah, it’s trash. Very rare to see road.cc rank anything below 4/5

i guess she did not specify what tape she wanted and the shop installed Supacaz. it looked great but when i gave it a feel, if felt awful at first touch. not the cush model but the shiny stuff.

Mona Lisa Saperstein is a great reference.

I've posted on this before, but I've got similar feelings about Supacaz Prismatic. Shiny and fun to look at, but that's about all I can say for it. It was super stiff, hard as hell to wrap without wrinkles, feels plastic-y without gloves, doesn't absorb any sweat, slippery in the rain. I haven't taken it off yet, because it was $40, but it's gonna make me crash some day.

Disappointing, since Super Sticky Kush is none of those things.
