Wadya mean "dinner for one?" There's clearly a penguin there to share the meal with you.
Looks delicious BTW. Hope you and the penguin enjoyed it.

It was actually quite good and more braised then stewed. It was inspired by a meal my lil' mum made me when I went back to Boston last fall.

John, any single guy who cooks something that complicated clearly has waaay too much time on his hands. ;) Find a hobby or something useful to do with your time. Cooking good food and drinking can only lead to weight gain and that won't help you one bit.

I think you may end up having dinner for 20 tomorrow night if you keep posting pics like that. My dinner for one tonight was not nearly as interesting.
Mmmm...Deschutes beer. I am a mirror pond girl myself. Must be a PNWesterner.

Oh yeah..there are four strips of bacon, browned and minced in this, so it's not kosher, but I did use kosher salt.

THAT's about all I can take J-boy!!!! Start making a recipe book replete with family "stuff" for each, your cultural ties / skills and passion for art + food are too great to waste. THAN...move to DC and we'll open a lunch bar...the women in DC would kill for those mad skills.

Agreed - skilled cooking like that is a sure bet to attract the ladies. Just as long as you have nice table manners to go along with that lovely meal.

He was invited, but he took forever to get there. What should I cook next week?
Karen...I have excellent table manners, unless I'm, at a pub with my brother and D'Donald.

Next week, enchiladas please, with some appropriate beer of course.
Glad to hear about the good manners. Your Mom did a fine job!

Since you are a fan of beer......Carbonnade de boeuf.... what is this you ask....the beef is slowly braised in onions and beer.
