Are GravelKings now accurately sized up by Panaracer? There was the issue of the 40 being a 43 a while back and Panaracer changing the number to 43 to reflect reality.

For a pair of older Mavic box section aluminium rims at 21mm outside to outside, will a GK SK 35 be a 35? Will a GK SS 35 be a 35?

My gravelkings have been pretty true to size. I did have a pair that ran a little bigger than advertised, but nothing wild like Conti.

I have Enve 3.4AR wheels.

My first set of tires were GK slicks. 700x38 measured 41mm on the wheel.

My second set of tires were GK SK+. 700x38 measured 38mm on the wheel.

My current set of tires are GK SS+. 700x38 measured 39mm on the wheel.

I have a pair of GK slick 650b x 42 from this Spring. They measure 44mm on 19mm internal rims. Also have a pair of GK SK 650b x 48 which measure 49mm on the 19mm internal width rims. On wider rims they'll grow a bit.

It is the internal width that matters and that's probably what, 14mm? Tubes also means slightly narrower than tubeless all things equal. I would expect those GKs to measure true to width at most, but most likely slightly under on those older rims.

My 700x35 slicks measure 37mm on Pacenti PL23 tubeless (19mm internal) at 50-55psi.

There is no one "reality" and there is always going to be someone complaining about the accuracy of any stated size on a tire. The rim variables are too many.

Yes, 14.5mm internal. I'm working to a general yardstick that the internal measurement should be 50%-65% of the correct tyre size range, so a tyre size between 29mm and 38mm for good cross section shape when inflated. A GK 35 should sit nicely in the Goldilocks zone...I think. Thanks.

Thanks. So nothing inflates to being smaller than the nominal number when mounted on your rim, which is somewhat wider than my vintage Mavic rim with an internal of 14.5mm. I assume then that my rim would reduce the GK's nominal size a little.

With an internal width of 25mm, I'd say the Enve is quite the difference. I highly doubt the GKs of any kind will swell to the printed width on the vintage MAVICs.
