Have one with chain line issues (CRs are pretty far outboard)
Thought maybe I could flip the spindle. Before I go ripping things apart I thought I'd check whether:
- Are these symmetrical? (IE any point in trying this?)
- Would flipping cause any problems? They're labeled L/R

These:

I'll measure a loose one and post in a minute or two. My memory seems to recall not symmetrical.

But you could measure with the crank off, self extracting bolts and all.

EDIT: 7700; 1mm difference for the double. I must have been remember triple or MTB BB.

You can but then your bike starts going backwards. Good news is if you pedal fast enough you can travel back in time

Been a while since I played with one of those, but if english threaded you’ll have to flip the cups.

Is it possible you're using the BB-7703, the version designed for a triple? That would push your chainline outboard when used with a double crank.

I'm totally going to try that!

Nope, not a triple. 109 total length

1mm huh? that won't help much

Your request has a back story FYI.

When I went in one of the drawers in the case for the BB out in the shop. A mouse in the process of giving birth on a napkin bolted over the edge of the drawer with the BB in it with a mouse hanging out of her, and 5 others already spawned in the drawer. Gross! And I hate to kill anything, except mice and rats....

This is on you! ;)
