I thought for sure I was going to see a mangled bird trapped in a front wheel.Thread drift, but the Sandhill cranes around my neck of the woods are something to beware of. They will stand in the middle of the road and not move -- not for cars, people or cyclists. So far, no one in the group I ride with has hit one, but there have been some close calls.
