I've got a new pair of DT carbon wheels that came with their twist-release levers having the splined attachment that allows repositioning the lever angle after the skewer is fully tight.
The lever has a lot of freeplay on the spline, and rattles. Actually both of them do this.

Are these faulty? Is their a fix?

For now I'll be using SRP slow-release skewers, and may continue doing so because they are truly light.

That doesn't sound right, the spring should hold them tight. Maybe they got a bad batch of springs. on edit: forgot to mention that mine don't rattle and I use them on my gravel bike.

Are those the version where the handles come off?

I think something is wrong.

I have those skewers and nothing rattles.

Late in replying, but these don't seem to come apart.

There is a lot of rotational freeplay in the splined interface between the inner and outer splines, so with the lever acting as a source of inertial torque, there is rattle at fairly low road-bump intensity even though the springs exert their axial force.

Both levers have an identical amount of freeplay.

These were OEM DT Spline carbon wheels as fitted to Cervelo.
