I've been riding the Bruce Gordon for a bit now and the big difference between it and my Colnago, Serotta, Trek, and Müsing is that I feel like I'm in or a part of the bike v on the bike. I'm going to assume that it's because of BB drop is this true? This bike feels like I could ride it all day the seat post is in the same position over the pedals, the reach and drop of the handlebars are the same but it's very different..

Does BB drop create this feeling?

Low Bottom bracket, 75-80mm drop mostly IMO.

Longer chainstay bikes give me that feeling.

Is the BB drop the only difference between the bikes? I would image that there are a number of other differences between a Colnago and Bruce Gordon as well, so I don't know that it is easy to narrow it down to a single difference.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever put this bike in a trainer? If so, did it still feel like you were sitting "in" the bike? On a trainer, the frame is essentially stationary, and the BB drop will have affect. So if you still feel "in" the bike, it must be something else (or a combination of somthing elses).

I would be interested to know what tubing as well.

I suspect that the frame is less stiff that some new stuff?

Steeper seat tube angle?

Dunno, but I had one bike (set up pretty much the same as any of the others) which always felt as though I was perched atop it, looking down from on high, as it were.

Interesting illusion.

I also wonder what 1 cm more BB drop will do if the COG decreases only marginally.
Where is the magic? (not saying that it's not there).

I'm no expert in what frame specifications makes the "feel" of a bicycle, but a good bike fitter can elevate a marginal frame to a legitimate ridable bike. And when I speak about bike fitter I'm not referring someone who just uses Retul...

...its simply about finding bike that aligns with proper fit for ur body/fitness level.... nothing more. Finding the match involves myriad characteristics about ur frame and your body.

I have more than a few bikes in rotatation. They're all within a few mm's set up. All feel great after a half mile or so. 4 feel like old shoes/gloves, straight away. My Moser Ax Leader, Della Santa, Scapin Dyesys and old Litespeed built for Karen Bliss. Mercian Audax is a very close 5th. All very different bikes.

I don't know what's in the secret sauce? I just like it!

I would say it's the moment where you're just....fully committed.
