Is that a big chainring or are you just happy to see me?

It'd be a lot less painful if you had some women's thangs strewn around it too.

Work on that.

What are you doing on a trainer, it was 70* this afternoon! Oh, you don't live in Florida. Never mind.

45 min. Please I have been doing a 5 1/2 hour stint on the weekends.

znfdl: I picture you riding the trainer for hours. Occasionally, a comely assistant walks to the easel in front of you and changes the photograph--the next in a long slideshow of your trans-America route. Snow-capped peaks, cows in a cornfield, truckstops in the distance, bridges over wind-whipped rivers....

Since it has been cold and rainy of late in San Antonio, I have resorted to riding rollers. One hour today. Can you say, "BORING!" Three more days and I head to the Grand Canyon for a week of hiking and inspiration deep in the Canyon. Can't wait. Weather will surely be much better when I get back and I can put the rollers away.

I HATE the trainer...I'd almost rather be subjected to anything else, but I do what I must........Starting intervals on the trainer soon.... :crap:

riding rollers or a trainer is for me like the study of attic grammar and syntax.....scintillating and joy-giving......provides hope for the future of humanity.

I would never ride those flexy wheels when doing intervals on the trainer. something more robust and definetly bigger gearing to simulate Netherlands springtime headwinds.

I have a friend who can't stand the cold. He's done numerous 5-hour sessions on the rollers: pops in a movie, then another, then another until he's done.

As for me, no thanks, I'd rather be outside any day in the cold and wet than indoors on rollers or a trainer. I did a 108-mile ride on Sunday on wet and icy roads, but the temperature did get up to a balmy 42°F by the afternoon, so it wasn't too bad.

For so many reasons.

What are they trying to accomplish in a 5hr session?
Do some "work", and get out. Our 4 hour club rides
are the same waste of time. 2 minutes of actual work
at the county line, the rest of the time your heart rate
is at 90.
