New rubbers for his comfort. 44mm Rene Herse Snoqualmie Pass TC Endurance +. I love my Chrome handlebar bag (once I got it extended off the bar tops so it doesn't interfere with hand positions). Will provide ride report tomorrow.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200714/dc64723f557f9709d9c1bff0ed6a98db.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200714/ff049d72744544dd397ab2c5c0e0ef8c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200714/eae948e8cbaf2de23f3846dab47368fa.jpg

What's the bar bag extender rig you've got there? I have to mash my cables and reach around them to get in the bag.

Bar bags look so clean and tidy on the company websites--no cables anywhere to be seen. But the reality is messy. I have to have one now just to get out the door for a ride--glasses, phone, key, etc.

I got it off Amazon where there are a 100 versions.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JLSBMGZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EFHdFbGKCVPC6

I actually bought two and used the second set of hardware as a "stabilizer" for the bag. Works like a champ.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200714/8e5532492e38a478e70aa84641bf443b.jpg

I put that up when Jake Phelps died. He was an inspiration for me and a channel through which I could escape. #thrasher #respect #rip

Still have my Gordon & Smith Fibreflex. Still rides like a champ, though I'm a bit more timid.

Be sure to let us know how you like the tires.

Okay, so I've got 3 rides and approximately 150+ miles on these 700C x 44 Snoqualmie Pass TC Endurance + tires. I have them setup tubeless and run them for the moment at about 40lbs f & r. Total weight 220LBS (me, bike, bag, seat mount cage rack, five large podium bottles -- 4 on bike and one in my jersey pocket).

Rides are almost exclusively on pavement but it's crappy, poorly maintained, chip seal, East Austin cracked tarmac big enough to swallow a fat tire bike tire with some smooth concrete pitch or asphalt thrown in to remind you what a nice surface is like. Also, lots of debris in road (construction material, broken glass, gravel, etc.)

The ride with these tires is supper supple. I have stopped a couple of times thinking I must have flatted and have a soft tire because the ride is so smooth over the rough stuff (which is 90% of the pavement I ride).

I've hit corners at crit speeds and they are sticky and good. I have ridden a little bit of hard pack gravel and they are good.

They also produce that sweet rolling sound that only fatter tires can yield.

For a big fat tire (44mm) they don't feel slow. I don't believe the GCN stuff about rotating weight doesn't matter -- it does. These tires are 408 grams. I can feel that spinning them up and I wouldn't want to be racing a crit against folks riding 28mm tires. But for riding in sheet pave or hardpack gravel these things are awesome. I would happily line up for a gravel race with them if the conditions are dry and hardpack (I was six overall at the Texas Gravel Championships a few years back which was 100+ miles of gravel and I rode that on 32mm GravelKings and was beaten to death by the washboard and rutts -- these tires would be smooth as butter).

I wouldn't expect any flats after only 3 rides but I haven't had any. I am attentive of the road ahead of me and tend to carve a line to avoid any debries but I did hit something large when making a fast left on a yellow light into the shoulder (I didn't see what it was but I made a POW noise at it pinged off the edge and sidewall of the tire). Upon inspection once home I couldn't see anything on the tire -- no marks -- nothing -- so maybe there's something to the Endurance +.

For me the real test will be flats over time. I expect to get 6000+ miles from these tires and will see how they hold up over time. For the moment, we are still very much in the honeymoon. I likes them.

Yes. Pics are at the top of the thread. I really like the handlebar bag. I have never used it off the bike but (it has a strap to carry it). I did have to get a handlebar extension to get it off the handle bars as I like to hold the hoods and it interfered with my fingers (as every handlebar bag without a mount would). Solved that with the extender which I included a link to an picture of earlier in the thread.

Every ride when I leave the house I have in mine:

Two 16 gram CO2
Lyzne CO2 head
Two Pedros Yellow Levers
A Kool Stop Tire Jack.
Tubeless plug tool
A tube patch kit
A tube (700x35-47) (belt & suspenders -- I never want to have to call for a ride)
A Cliff bar (Sweet & Salty)
3-4 Honey Stinger Gels
A zip lock bag with a mask, medical gloves, a wad of cash if I absolutely need to store stop in spite of carrying five friggin' bottles, some cheap readers, and my phone).
Room left over to stuff a contactless to-go bagel sandwich or tacos in the last mile from house)

Thanks!
Thats a lot of space just for tire scenarios!
I saw the pics but just wanted to make sure. That bag does look pretty nicely appointed especially with the camera pocket and the extension is a good call. I like my handlebar real estate too.

Dang! I gotta get out more: This is the first I have seen of the bar extender and now the Kool Stop tire lever. I am going to get one.

I replace four tires last week and surprised to see how tight they all were. It was kinda touch n' go if I was going to break down and use a lever under the last couple of inches of bead to get it over the rim--and risk a pinched tube.
